With the public consultation complete, Port Metro Vancouver (PMV) and City of North Vancouver (CNV) staff have finalized the “preferred design” for the proposed Low Level Road. The next steps for the project are to present the design back to the public, and seek approval from CNV Council to proceed.

Public Meeting Hosted by City of North Vancouver
North Vancouver City Council will host a Public Meeting to hear comments and feedback from the community. This event will take place on Wednesday, May 23rd at 6 pm in the City Hall Council Chambers.
City Council Decision

Port Metro Vancouver Decision
Subsequent to City Council’s decision on this project, the Port Metro Vancouver Board will make a decision if they wish to proceed with the project. The date for this decision is not yet available.
Hello, why don’t you use the area under the new road for a bus terminal? You are building anyway, use the ground you cover for other uses rather than just wasted space…Park the buses, and service centre there under the road!
Waterfront Industrial Noise Control Committee
Purpose: To meet with representatives of Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, James Richardson International (formerly Pioneer Grain), Neptune Bulk Terminals, CN Rail, Port of Vancouver and BC Rail, to identify specific noise sources emanating from these installations and through persuasive and cooperative methods, to develop solutions to the identified noise problems.
If this is the purpose of the WINCC, then we need to ask them to meet with CN Rail who has been missed terribly through this whole Rail Yard Expansion Project and request that they cooperatively meet with their community to further identify and develop solutions to our noise problems. They are the creators of the noise and pollution, so why is PMV trying so hard to solve their problem all the while trying to play down the importance of their presence.
We cannot proceed with this rail yard expansion as PMV is hoping for on June 11th without having time to meet, identify the problems, source solutions and obtain a firm commitment from CN surrounding noise and pollution problems within our community. It is impossible to shake hands with a ghost!
