About

Rail noise in North Vancouver has become unbearable for many residents who live in close proximity to the rail yards and train tracks in our community.  People are constantly subjected to locomotive whistles all day and all night long, in addition to noises from shunting, idling locomotives, and the sound of squealing wheels of rail cars while trains are being assembled at night time in the rail yards.  It has affected our sleep, our health, and the overall quality of our lives.

The purpose of this blog is to connect people in North Vancouver who are affected by rail noise.  North Vancouver residents need to know that they are not alone and that there are potential solutions that are available.

If you are affected by rail noise, please contribute your story in the Your Rant page.

This blog is sponsored by North Vancouver residents who are affected by rail noise and who want to help find solutions that allow railway operations and residents living in their proximity to co-exist in reasonable manner.  This blog is not intended to be anti-rail. Railways in Canada are an integral part of our transportation infrastructure and our economy.  We need our railways.  We also need to be able to sleep and have a good quality of life.  We need a solution that serves all parties.
